Bingo
arrived at our house on 14th March 2009.
From the very first moment he has showed unbelievable commitment to our family and so typical for Great Swiss Mountain Dog need for company – a desire to stay with his ‘herd’, our family. He loves to put his head on our feet, even if we are making tea in the kitchen he puts his head our feet, even though he needs to move every time we take a step, but so does he. It’s really amazing how much a GSMD needs a company of his family.
Why was it a Swissy that arrived at our home?
We were looking for a breed which would most of all be safe for our kids
(at that time four and seven year olds), but also a large one as we’ve always had large dogs in the past. After lots of searching we came across, completely new for us, breed – Great Swiss Mountain Dog. The descriptions of this breed were intriguing enough for us to visit some of the owners and meet the dogs.
That was enough for us. We have fallen in love with these dogs from
the first sight. All of the owners that we have come across were incredible, very open and they all share their big love and appreciation for GSMD. By now, we were absolutely sure what dog we were looking for, but it turned out that it is not so easy to have our dream puppy.
After lots of mails and conversations, we’ve made it… Bingo was ours!!!!!
Bingo has fulfilled all of our expectations in more than 200%.
We do not have a slightest hesitation as far as the safety of our children is concerned (which of course takes lots of work from both the children and the dog side especially during the growing period, taking part in dog’s training, etc), he is a great company to play with the kids, a friend of a whole family and he’s... big.
Our children can really do whatever they want with Bingo, they play and take away his food while he’s eating. Both our daughters have attended all training sessions at the dogs’ kindergarten and school. It has been a great time for both the kids and the dog and it created a deep bond between them. Bingo is committed and obedient to them.
Even though we have had pedigree dogs in the past, we haven’t had any experience with dog shows. Bingo has changed that and it gave us opportunities to meet great people – owners of GSMD. Bingo is like a family member, with wonderful and balanced character, being a great company for the children. We can talk about Bingo and GSMD for hours, Bingo has grown into a healthy, strong and family dog and is the most happy in the company of the whole family.
